Resident and staff orientations include how to greet and interact with neighbors and/or concerned parties. Documentation that mash certified sober homes residents are oriented to emergency procedures. Documentation that emergency contact information is collected from residents. Verification that entertainment or recreational areas and/or furnishings promoting social engagement are provided. Verification that kitchen and dining area(s) are large enough to accommodate all residents sharing meals together.

Certification with MASH not only validates the quality of a sober home but also makes homes eligible for state-funded referrals and builds trust with residents and families. Project NORTH is a Recovery Support Navigation program with limited resources for short-term assistance with rent in a certified and participating sober house for eligible individuals.
